December 18th
Option to stay at the CAPOW House the night prior, and parents can stay while kiddos are at the lodge.
The kids are learning, but they’ve still got a ways to go. So we’ve created the ultimate finishing school: four days of backcountry and avalanche education... which includes sweating up skin tracks, doing dishes, talking limits, learning lessons and HAVING THE BEST TIME EVER WITHOUT THE INTERNET.
At Blanket Glacier Chalet, ACMG Capow Guides will lead the whole gang through epic Monashee terrain, teaching the kids everything we know about the place and the lessons that you can take away from it. We will add a few surprise top pro skiers who will teach these young padawans how to access the zones they want to be in. These “adults” know what it’s like to be young and hungry for pow. Now, they want to pass on their knowledge to the next generation and set them up on a path for safety in the backcountry.
This is not a huck-fest. This is a chance to learn the skills, knowledge and respect that it takes to make grown-up decisions in a remote, uncontrolled, backcountry playground (that will forever bring out the little kid in us all). A Capow! education: eliminating the “kids these days” stereotype, one by one.
Our cozy little lodge is about a 7 minute heli ride from Revelstoke. Price includes the helicopter, food, guiding and accommodation. We also bring along a pro skier (or two) to help coach kids through ski lines and keep the stoke high!
We welcome kids aged 14-19 who are ready to take their skills to the next level! If you can ski powder, have strong technical abilities, and are comfortable navigating different snow conditions, you’re in the right place. A solid level of fitness is important, but no extensive backcountry experience is needed.
We fly into the Blanket early on exchange day, December 19th. Kids will have breakfast, do their transceiver exercise, and head out for the day. Three full days of skiing, and then they fly out of the lodge on December 23rd.
For lodging prior to the trip, check out CAPOW House for cozy accommodation. If parents want to stay in Revelstoke during the Blanket trip, let us know!
